I'm Hisashi MATSUBAYASHI, a mammalogist and belong to Tokyo University of Agriculture as a postdoctoral researcher. I have been conducted ecological and ethological study on the mammals in Bornean tropical rain forests and on its conservation since 1997. In doctor courses (1997-2002), focal species was mouse-deer that is the smallest ruminant in the world. The study had conducted in Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve and Tabin Wildlife Reserve, Sabah, Northern Borneo. In post doctor (2003-present), focal species are middle to large mammals including endangered species such as banteng, elephant, and orangutan. My research interests are habitat use of mammals, especially relationships between natural licks and the mammals, and conservation of mammals in the tropical rain forests. Study area is Deramakot Forest Reserve that is a commercial forest and a certified as a well-managed forest by FSC.
